Unique & Modern Kanzashi
This section contains information and images of kanzashi that have a distinctive modern edge and may or may not follow the traditional rules of motif use, coloring, or what is considered "proper" kitsuke due to wanting to make a statement. Items in the section will definitely have a kimono-hime edge to them and are very adventurous.

Sushi Themed Kanzashi artist/photographer: amaebi79	Sushi Themed Kanzashi - Often times, kanzashi will take inspiration from the other aspects of Japanese life, rather than from the nature that is outside, you may see some artisans look to Japanese food. In this case, the popularized worldwide  food invented by the Japanese, the ever stylized sushi. Certainly not a traditional kanzashi, you may find this type of kanzashi being worn by those with interest in wearing the kimono-hime (modern/edgy) style. While not confined to a particular season, this would most likely be worn during the Spring and Summer.
Edgy Modern Kanzashi artist/photographer: Regynx	Edgy Modern Kanzashi - Just as art has changed to reflect modern styles and ideals, so has some facets of kanzashi. You'll find that some will take inspiration from minimalism, neon colors, and edgy shocking attitudes found in modern life. In this case, the sharp chic designer look with vivid colors. Certainly not a traditional kanzashi, you may find this type of kanzashi being worn by those with interest in wearing the kimono-hime (modern/edgy) style. While not confined to a particular season, this would most likely be worn during the Spring and Summer.
