Kanzashi
According To Season
Many, if not all
kanzashi can be attributed to a traditional Japanese motif or in the case of
this section attributed for use during a particular season. There are some
kanzashi that go the non-traditional route and contain things like treasure
ships, ladybugs, and even skulls. But for now, let us focus on those of a more
traditional design. Each month commonly has certain motifs that correspond with
it to represent aspects of that month. That being, the flowers growing at that
time, various events that take place that month, or designs that harkens back in
history to feature traditional symbols.
